The star classification system is commonly used
for rating hotels. Higher star ratings indicate more quality
and luxury. Furthermore, Hotels are independently evaluated
depending heavily on the facilities provided. This may be disadvantageous to
smaller hotels whose quality of accommodation could fall into
one rating, but lack a feature that would prevent the hotel from reaching a
higher class, even though the overall service exceeds the assessed rating.
Currently, there is no international classification adopted to officially
classify hotels. Therefore, we will use the star classification system listed
below:
5 Star Deluxe Luxury hotels
offer the highest services and indulge guests with multilingual concierge and
butler services. Interiors artistically designed and guestrooms are large with
the best of everything, designer bedding, and other such amenities.
Surroundings often include manicured landscaping, museum quality fine art, a
luxury pool, spa and fitness gym. 5 Star hotels have gourmet restaurants with
world-class chefs. These hotels are typically centrally located in metropolitan
cities and resort areas.
4 Star Superior These stylish
hotels offer culturally inspired decor with personalized concierge
services. They should have a lavish restaurant and bar with acclaimed chefs.
Facilities normally include fitness and massage centers, and pools. These
Hotels also offer conference facilities with advanced technology and
professional event planning. Guestrooms are stylishly furnished with WIFI
access, stocked mini-bars, bathrobes, and toiletries.
3 Star First Class The midrange
hotel, 3 star accommodations often cater to traveling business
executives providing transportation assistance and conference rooms. Guestrooms
usually have modern interiors with signature bedding, pillow top mattresses,
and work desks. Conveniences include WIFI access, fax and copy services. These
hotels should have a high-ranking restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and
dinner, a pool and fitness room, and are usually located near convention
centers or large corporate complexes.
2 Star Moderate Representative of chain
hotels offering better quality than economy or budget hotels. These
Hotels offer simple comfortable rooms, consistent services and amenities such
as expanded continental breakfasts, WIFI access, and cable television with
complimentary movie channels. These are value-added hotels. Guestrooms are
usually marked by exterior entrances.
1 Star Economy Economy hotels
are also representative of chain hotels offering basic, consistent, no-frill
service catering to travelers on strict budgets. They may also offer
continental breakfasts, WIFI access, and cable television with complimentary
movie channels. These hotels and motels are
value-added, which may have outdoor pools. Guestrooms are usually marked by
exterior entrances. |
